Question: Do you need planning permission to have a Loft Converted ?
Answer: Various loft conversions call for Planning Permission and all have to conform to Building Regulations. The quote you obtain should incorporate the preparing and submission of Plans to your local Council. We provide the acceptable notices and liaise with the Councils on your behalf.
The majority of Loft Conversions do not require Planning Permission. Planning is commonly required if the proposed works faces a highway,or surpasses or projects higher than the existing ridgeline.
Qustion: How Much is a Loft Conversion?
Answer: Because their are so many Loft Conversion Companies you will find that the price will differ, but we at London Lofts have our own loft conversion price list on our website, this is a procedure that many other loft Companies do not offer.
Our loft conversion prices start from: £12,500 and can go up to £49,000.
Question: How Long would your Company take to convert my attic?
Answer: For a small loft conversion we have taken 3 weeks, for a medium loft around 6 weeks, and a larger loft about 7 - 8 weeks.
Question: How would I know if the height of my roof is sufficient for a loft conversion?
Answer: We would need to measure from the top of the apex down to the floor, and if the height is under 2.4 m, or 8 ft, you will not be able to have a loft converted with steels, but we could convert the loft into a loft storage room / bedroom / office, we have converted many of these types of lofts.
Question: What if I still have a water tank up in the attic?
Answer: We would usually move any water tank, and place it under the eaves into coffin tanks.
Question: Do you clear out our attic?
Answer: No, you the customer should have this responsibility to clear all belongings from the attic.
Question: Do you take any waste and rubble away?
Answer: Yes, we will have skips throughout the work undertaken.
Question: Will we get a Projects Manager to oversea the work?
Answer: Yes, their will be a Projects Manager that will be on the job UNTILL FINISHED.

Answer: Yes we have Public Insurance worth over 5 Million.
